Rise and Shine: Why I’m a Morning Person and Why You Should Be Too

Let's be real, mornings aren't for everyone. Some people would rather hit snooze a dozen times than face the day ahead. But for me, mornings are a true joy. I pop out of bed like a human-shaped jack-in-the-box, ready to take on the day. And honestly, I think more people should be morning people. Here's why:

First of all, there's the peace and quiet. Now, I know some of you might be thinking "but wait, isn't it quiet at night too?" Sure, but there's something special about the peace and quiet of the early morning. The streets are empty, the birds are singing, and it's just you, your thoughts, and your trusty companion. In my case, that companion is Sebastian, my Shih Tzu. He's always up for a walk and I swear he knows the difference between a morning walk and one at any other time of the day. It's like he's as excited as I am to start a new day.

Speaking of companions, one of the best things about mornings is the sense of community. As I walk around my neighborhood, I often get greeted with a friendly "good morning" from my neighbors. It's a small exchange, but it always makes me feel connected to the people around me. Plus, it's a great way to start a conversation with someone you might not have talked to before. You never know, that friendly "good morning" might turn into a friendship.

After 35+ years as a hairdresser I had an unexpected fall. After several spinal surgeries finding something to do that doesn't hurt is my goal . Wish me luck!
